I was roaming around my old blog (I used to blog at Wordpress, though) and I found this article of mine in there. :)
I've read an article before about how Kpop is stupidly amusing to the writer. Well, let me, a fan girl of K-pop, tell the true story from my point of view about K-pop. It’s not a bad thing and it’s not a good thing either. Just let me tell you all about it.
K-pop is short of Korean Pop. Every month (if not every month, twice or thrice a month) a new group would struggle to have their name on the Hall of Fame and in fans' hearts. They audition not only in South Korea but also all over the world to become somebody- more to an idol in the K-pop industry. Not only from South Korea, also Asia and the other half of the Earth’s hemisphere.
They struggled every single day during their trainee days, enduring the pain in their heart, leaving family all behind. Their sorrow and sadness are all sealed tightly in their hearts, but they all keep their heads as high as they can and put on a fake smile and walk straight ahead.
Everyone wants to be popular (I know, I’m Professor X, for God’s sake, I know and don’t lie!) and all we need to do is to strive for it. If you aren’t a Kpoper, you just can’t understand this sickness. Oh wait, you don’t need to be a K-popper at all to understand it! Basically in the eyes of people who have the talent and can see themselves ‘there’, like the young teen who’s trying to get his luck, it is never as easy as “You’ll be recording starting form next month,” or “Hey I like you. Wanna be my recording artist?” For these idols, of course that had happened to them (especially the second one…) but then, when you enter the academy, it’s all about fighting and surviving two to six years to become a recording artist.
People who can’t get Kpop, you’ll never know. But yes, like my parents said, “Kpop has its advantage and disadvantage.” Let me tell you about the disadvantages first.

Firstly, since Super Junior is my favourite group, we’ll take them for instance. Have you ever seen them? Like on newspapers and magazines… But have you ever wonder, what’s beneath Choi Siwon’s t-shirts? (OMG, pervert mode!!!) Well, I might get addicted on saying things about that, because they are very yummy. Secondly, I am constantly screaming like I’ve been possessed by ghost when I saw even a glimpse of their beautiful picture. Third, because of Kpop, I lose my concentration at school and I can do nothing but think about it 24/7 and doodle idol's names in my textbooks.
The best part of Kpop is this…
First, you can dream to be like them, even you’re not a rock star, but duh, who doesn’t dream of that, seriously? Secondly, they all make us all believe in ourselves that nothing is impossible. If it’s impossible, how can they can be ‘there’, reaching for the stars? Third, “Don’t listen to anyone!” says Cho Kyuhyun, because “Compared to you, I’m a genius.”
Bottom line is, Kpop is all about determining your aim and take the chance in front of you and believe that nothing is impossible. Determination of a person is very important to win something and to make a difference in our daily life. Everyone is human though, but we together can win, even of you’re not a K-popper, but respect would be the best thing ever. ^^
